On Wednesday January 29, 2025, the UNESCO Chair in Water, Women and Decision-Making (CUEFPOD) officially launched its CREA-PAIX 2025 Campaign, under the theme: “Active non-violence, the path to peace”, in a context where peace and stability are major issues for Africa, and particularly for Côte d’Ivoire in this election year.
This flagship campaign is part of a proactive approach aimed at preventing electoral tensions, promoting social dialogue and strengthening the involvement of local communities in peace-building.
A campaign committed to a peaceful electoral climate, supported by CUEFPOD’s CREA-PAIX program (Regional Communities for Empowerment and Peace).
The initiative aims to
– Raise awareness among citizens and political players of the culture of non-violence during elections.
– Train community leaders, women and young people in mediation and peaceful conflict management.
– Encourage a collective commitment to making non-violence a lever for governance and social cohesion.
